Intro lol
If you’re reading this, I really hope you’re a friend/relative/normal person and not a creeper. For the umpteenth time, I am here attempting to blog (Fourth time’s the charm?). I’ll introduce myself again for those who may be new here:
- My name is Toni Cross (duh)
- I was born and raised in Florida
- Language learning, music, and politics are my passions in life
- I am a full-time student and have been for my whole life (seriously, I went from high school to undergrad to grad school and now law school)
As I said, this is not my first blog (so grateful to those of you who have continued to migrate from website to website with me) although I hope it will be my last. My very first “blog” was dedicated to Linkin Park and I made it when I was around 10, I think. My study abroad blog was my favorite and the most successful thus far in terms of continuity (RIP WhereInTheWorldIsToniCross.wordpress.com, no longer active but always in our hearts and archived here.)
Some News
I’m trying this whole blogging thing again because I have some news: in addition to preparing for law school, I’ve been working on a handful of books, some of which are already available in my store! The first three are Turkish grammar workbooks and I hope to release my novel sometime in the next four years (lmao). My eBooks are aimed at people who have
- Already learned a foreign language and want to study another one independently OR
- Are in the process of learning a language in a classroom setting but could benefit from supplemental information or different explanations than their instructor is providing
I’m working on the Turkish and Spanish guides right now but hope to expand to French, Russian, and Arabic. (That’s another thing that strangers might not know about me: my native language is English and I speak Spanish, French, Russian, Arabic, Chinese, and Turkish to varying degrees of proficiency).
My novel will follow six millennial first generation Americans who reconnect at their ten-year reunion. I have almost 30,000 words written so far and I am so excited to finish and show it to the world.
Where You Come In
I’m hoping that this website will be a forum for friends and family to keep up with me and for new friends (once again, no creepers!) to learn about my writing projects. I also plan on posting some language learning tips since I get a lot of requests for those.
I won’t promise to post often because that’s not fair to any of us, but I promise that what I do post will be at the very least, mildly entertaining. If you give me your email address, I will email you when a new post goes up and when my books are available; no more frequently than that. If you don’t want to give me your email address, at the very least, please bookmark this website so you can stay up to date.
Feel free to comment on any of the posts with comments and questions, or you can email me at tonicrosswords@gmail.com.
